When Politics Becomes a Tool for Genocide

Throughout the pages of modern military history, the Target Bank has remained one of the most decisive tools in war strategies, where shells and military maneuvers go beyond the battlefield to become an embodiment of a political will seeking control and oppression. As the military philosopher Carl von Clausewitz said, "War is merely the continuation of politics by other means," the destruction of a facility or the bombing of a city does not only express a military conflict but also a political decision aimed at breaking the opponent's will and depriving them of the ability to resist.
In World War II, warring powers demonstrated this concept in its most brutal forms, where cities were reduced to ashes under the weight of bombing. Aircraft and tank factories, strategic ports, and even cities like Dresden and Hiroshima became central targets aimed at destroying the enemy’s infrastructure and weakening their people's morale. The goal was clear: to impose complete surrender through a combination of physical and psychological destruction.
Modern Strategies with Old Goals
In modern wars, despite the development of technology and the emergence of new tools of conflict, the philosophy of the Target Bank remains intact. In Afghanistan, the United States focused on targeting Taliban leadership sites and al-Qaeda training camps, attempting to achieve rapid military superiority. In Iraq, the "Shock and Awe" strategy was adopted, intensively targeting leadership centers and infrastructure. However, these strategies proved capable of achieving only temporary tactical success, often leaving a security vacuum that leads to chaos and rebellion, as seen in Baghdad and Kabul.
Palestine: A Target Bank for Collective Punishment
In the Palestinian context, Israel takes this approach to a new level, using the Target Bank as a colonial repression tool aimed at emptying the land of its original inhabitants. The siege imposed on Gaza for more than two decades embodies this policy, which has caused unprecedented humanitarian suffering and ultimately led to the events of October 7, which were nothing but an inevitable result of decades of oppression and injustice.
With the announcement of the latest war on Gaza, the Netanyahu government set a list of goals:
Liberating hostages.
Returning settlers to northern Israel and the Gaza envelope.
Disarming the Palestinian resistance and eliminating Hamas.
Imposing unconditional surrender on Gaza.
But these goals remained mere empty slogans. Over time, Israel's failure to achieve any of them became evident, revealing military and intelligence shortcomings. The Palestinian resistance was not defeated but continued to deliver significant blows, enhancing its ability to confront Israel's war machine.
Genocide Between International Silence and the Crime of Occupation
What is happening in Gaza today can only be described as a systematic attempt to annihilate an entire people. Israel's policy relies on targeting civilians, children, and women to crush the Palestinian spirit and empty the land of its people for the benefit of settlers who adopt a racist, hate-filled rhetoric. These practices, committed daily without shame, are classified as crimes against humanity.
Meanwhile, the world stands by, watching silently, content with condemnation and denunciation without taking genuine steps to stop this humanitarian tragedy. The world's silence is no less brutal than the bombing itself, as it gives the green light for the occupation to continue implementing its criminal policies.
War Is Just Another Face of Politics
What is happening in Gaza today is not just a military conflict but the embodiment of a colonial policy aimed at erasing Palestinian identity. The military failure of Netanyahu's government to achieve its goals does not signify the end of the story but reveals a deeper truth: this war primarily targets the Palestinian human being, making life on their land impossible. However, it will leave behind generations filled with anger and a desire for resistance. In Gaza, as in every resistant spot in the world, the Palestinian people will remain steadfast in their right to live, affirming that bombing and destruction will not succeed in erasing their will or erasing their identity.
